Jon started broadcasting on internet radio on a station called Shout Radio, back in 2014. James quickly climbed the ranks of the station to become the MD within 18 months. Jon had to oversee the day to day running of the station and ensure all volunteers are working well and completing tasks assigned to them. In February 2017 Jon left Shout radio to start his own internet radio station that was aimed at playing tracks from unsigned artists only. This station was called Unsigned James, this later went on to become the foundation for the current station DFM, with Unsigned James as one of the flagship shows.
Darren has worked / volunteered on a number of community & radio projects in and around Gloucestershire in the south west of England since 1995. Started off as a volunteer then as a part time staffer at Forest Of Dean Radio, presented a number of shows including The Spectacular, The Eclectic Breakfast, Chilled And Blissed, but he's most known around the area for presenting White Labelled City promoting unsigned bands and singers, initially the brainchild of local dj / singer songwriter Tim Gunter. Whilst not on air Darren used to help the project by promoting its core aims and making it accessible to the public eye, via admin and did a number of training aspects as well as helping out on outside broadcasts. Darren learnt a lot and gained so much in terms of experience in heaps and bounds from his HNC radio and broadcasting training at Stroud College where he been given work experience within the BBC at local level and commercial radio at national level. Since the demise of FOD Radio, Darren as worked briefly on White Labelled Radio ( again promoting unsigned music ) and the replacement for FOD Radio, Triangle Radio. In 2016 Darren got involved with Radio Beacon Online creating a diverse and wide reaching schedule that appealed to the radio listener to listen to a specific genre of music at a time when say a ordinary mainstream station wouldn't touch it. Whilst keeping a focus on unsigned and emerging artists to make Beacon in the process one of the best places on the Internet to source out new bands and great music. Darren presented The Ultimate Music Stash for the Beacon, which will carry on for another station he’s now attached to. Darren as a love and knowledge of movies like no other, and his other show Celluloid Street which will be regularly broadcast by DFM promises to bring his passion and love of movies to the radio via way of picking out the latest releases, diving through classic movie soundtracks and rounding the show out with the hottest gossip he can find.
